after being accepted into SOLDIER Zack quickly ascended the ranks Reaching 1st class and making friends with cloud, however after his dissapearence at the reactor in niebelheim he was taken to the basement of the shinra mansion and tortured, infused with jenova cells.
after his escape with cloud the two parted and seperated zack wandered for 6 years everywhere that he could go, however on his return to midgar, he found it not as the paradise people had made it out to be, it had good places to work, but it wasnt pretty, he heard rumors of a flower girl, and he saw her walking on the streets, she didnt see him but he thought he recognised her. he quickly made a contract with avalanche and began the fight against shinra
